"My wife, Allison, and I travelled to Kyrgyzstan to study the Russian language. Over the course of our search for a suitable language teacher, we continually found Karina’s name mentioned by her former students.  In fact, our decision to contact her came at the end of a long line of exuberant reviews and accolades.  We were looking for a teacher who could meet us at our rough level and lay out a map for us to begin to understand the intricacies of grammar.  At the end of the first lesson, we were impressed by her ability to take on the challenge of self-taught intermediates, with all of the inherent holes in their understanding of the language. She immediately found the gaps in our knowledge, designed and delivered an excellent lesson complete with really thoughtful homework.  She offered us a wide range of peripherals and encouraged us to learn new vocabulary by exploring a wide variety of new materials.  Over the lessons that followed, we were impressed that she always had new material and an interesting way to present it.  Her passion for the language was obvious.

Karina has been exactly what we were looking for; a smart, experienced teacher with a command of the language. She was able to sort out our needs in the first conversation and developed a program to fill in the gaps. Classy, international, and culturally fluent, she walked us through a lot in our short time together. We were always happy to meet with our tutor, discuss our pages of homework, and barade her with questions. Learning to speak Russian for a native English speaker is not about translation as much as it is about thinking from a different perspective and Karina walked us to the platform where we could begin to glimpse this perspective."
